SOS village has been working tirelessly to meet with the students online and teach them english and partake in fun activities such as zumba and learning songs from dancing. We have recently started a theme of being pen-pals

with SOS Village where we write them letters, songs and stories.[LO3, LO4]

 

 

 

 

This has been a fun process where we have enjoyed learning what they like and appreciate. We engaged in a new concept over the past two service weeks. We collectively came up with teacging the kids english trhough songs. Since their english level is very low, we started with days of the week, months and then did a fun song called “Happy by Pharrell Williams. [LO6, LO7]I came up with the dance moves on the spot on one service thursday and we prepped for the whole duration so we could present it the next service thursday.[LO5]

The next service thursday we went through the sequence of the days of the week, the month macarena led by Akhil and then the Happy dance led by me. The kids really had fun and so did we!

I am looking forward to my next service thursday which will also be my last one.
