Badminton and down time…

Recently when we were in lockdown, I tried utilizing resources available in my apartment such as our badminton court. My dad is a regular there and he wanted me to accompany him to the court and play a couple of matches.  Not having done any such rigorous  physical activity, playing for 45 minutes was a challenge undertaken for me [LO2]. My dad taught me the  technique of how to hold a racket to start with and how to position yourself. I picked up those skills but I can still improve on my serving skills as well as reaction time [LO1]. I am looking forward to playing more often with him during the December break. By working collaboratively with my dad I understood how badminton works as I have no experience in the sport and he has been playing from his years at University [LO5].  I also realised the importance of consistent physical activity because my energy levels were significantly lower than my dads and I could not keep up at times. Even though I dance and do yoga, I am missing out on the cardio element of my excersie routine and I am looking to bring that back.

Down time with trying a new app for yoga – Down Dog

[My app history with my first week in]
Trying a nw app was both fun and challenging and I enjoyed the 14 day free trial for this app. They had sessions from 15 minutes to 2 hours. I tried different variations and worked on my skills and flexibility [LO3 & LO1]. Here are snapshots of the app itself. I want to explore more apps like this in the future as it is a good getaway from the stress and workload.
