The coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused all of us to be in quarantine for ours and others’ safety. Consequently, we can’t go to school, which is where I primarily partook in service (an important part of CAS), specifically Gecko Net, where I made and edited media such as videos to inform people about school activities.

As going to the school is impossible right now, Mr. Lockwood and Ms. Fleming (CAS coordinator and counselor) provided an opportunity to participate in Service online, by signing up to help organize activities for primary students (in coordination with their teachers). So, I have signed up for that and have undergone child safeguarding protocols with Ms. Fleming; and I am looking forward to it.

Furthermore, I’ve also decided to partake in service in my own home as well, by tutoring my sister in maths. This has been beneficial to her as it clears any doubts she has and allows her to get quick feedback as I can give her immediate feedback.

Through all of this, I’ve demonstrated Learning Outcome (LO) 2, as this sort of service is something I wouldn’t typically be doing. Moreover, I also show LO 4, as I took the initiative to teach my sister and to make use of the opportunity provided by Mr. Lockwood and Ms. Fleming.
