I have been training for the upcoming SAISA (South Asian Inter-Scholastic Association) Track and Field competition. So far, it has been quite a journey, and my overall fitness has increased quite a lot. My times for all my races (800m, 1500m, 3000m) have improved. Furthermore, my technique on my field event (high jump) has improved quite a bit as well.

2019’s SAISA Track team raising the trophy as champions

Moreover, our track team has been reigning champions for the past three years, and we intend on getting a 4peat this year. So, whilst there is additional pressure, it also means all of us have been training harder than ever. Furthermore, we have been having extra sessions in the morning in which we race our track events, to gain further experience and develop racing strategy. We have also been training in the afternoon to practice our field events and gain further experience.

Through SAISA Track and Field, I address the “Action” strand of CAS. Moreover, I demonstrate Learning Outcome 1 as through track I identify how my overall fitness can improve. I also address Learning Outcome 4 as participating in Track requires perseverance, as you constantly need to push yourself harder.
