GOALS
The past two years have been really chaotic, challenging, and full of uncertainty, and although it was not possible for me to stick up to my usual schedule, I managed to adapt to the situation and think differently so that I could continue to improve both myself and the community around me. The pandemic restricts the variety of activities that can be done, but I hope to improve my creativity and serve the community to the best of my ability 🙂 Here are some of the CAS goals that I would like to accomplish this year.
- Creativity
Since cuisine has been one of my passions inspired mostly by my grandmother and famous chefs like Gordon Ramsay, Anthony Bourdain, and Sri Lankan chefs like Peter Kuruvita and chef Pubilis, I plan to better improve my skill at it by learning to cook a wide array of dishes from around the world. I plan on starting a YouTube channel publishing various recipes so that I can be a part of spreading the food culture of my small island nation to the rest of the world. Although I managed to complete the first phase of a robotics course, I could not complete the final phase due to the pandemic. Therefore, I plan to go ahead with this by getting resource materials via the internet, and also by following some tutorial videos to better enhance and polish my robotic skills. I also plan on exploring new areas of building up my creativity such as photography, designing, and scrapbooking.
- Activity
Since it is vital to be active during these challenging times I would keep aside thirty to sixty minutes of my day to engage in some form of activity. I plan to stay fit by following a daily workout session, and I would certainly go out for a three to six-kilometer jog in the walking path that is close by, whenever possible. Gardening has also been one of my passions, as I have always loved to see how things in nature grow. Thus, I will also be doing various things like mowing the lawn, planting new seeds, plants, and trees as a form of activity as well. And since I have been passionate about swimming and karate, I will also keep aside a few hours of my week dedicated to practicing and polishing my skills in these sports as well.
- Service
Serving the community and the people around me is one of my main priorities. I plan on initiating various service projects that would help the needy, and also the environment around us. I plan to be a part of the Leo Club and collaborate in a variety of service projects and initiatives, which would address many local and global issues in our world as well. I also want to be a part of different service groups like the MUN club, and eco-schools within OSC as well.
