Perfecting Healthy Brownie Recipe

Since lockdown started again I have been meaning to perfect my healthy brownie recipe, therefore I took the IB well day to research and try a variety of brownie recipes. This way I could find the perfect recipe to put in my cookbook. This cookbook consists of healthy snack alternatives that state exactly like store-bought or casual snacks but is made with healthier ingredients. This cookbook will be shared with the OSC community in an order to promote a healthy lifestyle and push students to try new things.

LO1:

I could strengthen and grow my baking skills through this activity, as well as extending my skills and abilities specifically in making brownies. This way by experimenting and trying to improve my recipe I can find somewhat healthy and good tasting brownies to add to my cookbook which I can share with my peers and staff so that they can try out delicious new snack recipes. Most of the recipes in this cookbook are healthy alternative recipes for normal snacks so that I can promote a healthy lifestyle within the OSC community.

LO2:

Challenges were undertaken whilst doing this activity because I tried a variety of recipes throughout the day and tasted them, as well as getting my families’ opinion on them too. This way I can find the best recipes and then alternate some ingredients on it to make it taste as similar as I can to a normal brownie. This took a lot of trial and error but at the end of the day, by adjusting the milk and sugar ratio, I was able to obtain the ideal healthy brownie recipe that tastes exactly like normal brownies.
