The Bathroom…. A very private space for most people, so why wouldn’t you want you have a nice a good looking bathroom.
And that’s why my mother thought, so recently my mother didn’t like the look of a bathroom. Her bathroom was a beige cement color and was textured. So as the loving son that I am and with my painting experience I agreed to paint her bathroom white.
So the whole process started with me and mum going over to the paint store I order to gather all the materials we needed to renovate the bathroom.
It was a simple check list :
⁃ 1 bucket of white paint
⁃ Wall filler
⁃ Sand paper
⁃ Paint roller
⁃ Small paint brush
⁃ Medium paint brush
After we collected all the materials we started working immediately. Surprisingly this was a supremely long process, I learned a lot of new thing through this more importantly was patience because this whole project took 3 days, but another thing I realised that painting on canvas and painting on a wall are very different.
So the first day of the project me and my mum started off with mixing the paint. The ratio we used was 2:1 of paint and water. We used the paint roller to place a base coat on all 4 of the walls, while I was doing that my mum was placing missing tape across all the wooden beams as well as the door frame. Thsi process might have sounded easy but it took 4 hours!!!! After that we called it a day because something was a very draining activity especially in a hot bathroom
On day 2 I started painting the bathroom counter while my mum continued with the second coat of paint. After today we had to do a third layer on some sections of the bathroom but after today the bathroom was technically complete and looks s really nice but the final step was to add a water proof sealant to the shower area and on the bathroom counter.
Day 3, it was morning and the bathroom looked so nice, the sun made the bathroom so bright and clean. So I got the paint Sealant and painted the necessary sections .
Overall I was so happy with the outcome of the bathroom and my mum was super happy as-well. Thsi was honestly a Bering experience and I realize that painting a house and the interior is a lot of hard work and I’m grateful of living the house that I have. I think I might paint my bathroom next but I guess that’s a journey for another day
