Beach training session with old teammates

After a while of not being able to swim and with school being super hectic, I was able to find time this weekend to meet up with my national swim team friends and do a nice early morning beach run and workout.

It felt bizarre walking up to the ocean so early in the morning. I used to wake up to the weight room in an ACed gym for a while. Today morning I woke up to the smell of the ocean breeze and to the sounds of my friends calling me over to run.

Running with my team again was also nostalgic, and having my heart racing and my lungs burning felt so good. I know this sounds a bit crazy, but I miss the cardio exhaustion that I used to feel.

A morning workout consisted of a 30 minute run Up and down the beach on the soft sand, which was more challenging. Then we went into about an hour of circuit training, and our muscles were crying, and sweat was pouring.

After that, we had a rugby ball, and we played ocean rugby in the sand and everywhere. It just feels super good to finally be out with a group of people on the beach working out.

In terms of cas expectations, a lot of planning went into this since everybody was busy with online university in school on top of other commitments. There’s also showed perseverance and dedication to Fitness calls that I’ve been having for a long time and helped me push myself through areas that I need to work on, such as cardio and strength building.
