Quarantine has brought many restrictions but it hasn’t stopped me from playing my trumpet. If there wasn’t a global pandemic that put the world on lock down, then I would have participated in the spring gala where I would have performed numerous songs with the concert band. Despite this, I have continued my trumpet practice throughout quarantine and have continued to practice the songs that I would have performed in the spring gala.

In addition to practicing the pieces that I would have been performing, I have also had some fun finding songs online that I have practiced as well. I have challenged myself by finding new and difficult songs to play and have enjoyed attempting to play them.

For the last 3 years, I have been attending concert band practice every Monday after school for an hour. Now that this is no longer possible, I must keep up my practice so that I don’t lose all of the skill that I have built up over the last few years. I will continue to practice playing my trumpet throughout the summer and look forward to playing with the band again after quarantine in over next school year.
