DP1 CAS Goals 📌

“If you set your goals ridiculously high and it’s a failure, you will fail above everyone else’s success” – James Cameron

Creativity:

The colorful meditative coloring product I was working on

My goal for this year is to be involved in some activities that boost creativity provided in or outside of school. Towards the end of this semester, I am planning to learn how to play a musical instrument, preferably the piano, which I have played for a short period of time few years ago, and become more competent in playing it. By engaging in this, I expect to improve my ability to concentrate, emotional intelligence and discipline. Moreover, I am hoping to be a part of the cast of the upcoming school production hopefully in the second semester. This will enhance my acting and speaking skills allowing me to gain more confidence in presenting in front of a big audience. Also, I am planning to join the SAISA art team, with which I will travel to Mumbai, India in coming February. Currently, I am involved in the mindful meditative coloring sessions after school, which enables us to relax and calm our minds through the choice of colors we make. This is highly beneficial to reduce stress and experience freedom in thinking and decision-making.

Activity:

My goal for this year is to be involved in some of the sports provided in school with the aim of practicing a healthy and active lifestyle. I am planning to be a part of the TISSL Football tournament which is a girls football tournament played between schools in Colombo, that will be held in the second semester. At the moment, I am engaged in Zumba which is fun and enjoyable in doing and also benefits our physical and mental health.

Service:

My goal in Service this year is to offer support to the society while benefitting from it myself. The Temple School Service is a project where children between the ages of 3-6 are brought to our school, taught English and played with. I find immense pleasure in being a part of this service as the co-leader and I genuinely enjoy being with the kids who are in need of affection, care and support. By playing with them and teaching them, I too develop a sense of  satisfaction by the fact that I contributed positively for the betterment of the community. I have hopes and plans of making the content of this service more interesting and attractive so more people can join this service and benefit from it improving their own skills. This will include coming up with different and more creative ideas of activities to be done with kids so that they would also find it more enjoyable.
