The Track and Field Season has just started. I am pumpled and also very scared at the same time becuase from last year I know that the trainings are not easy and especially the first 2 weeks as the coaches are just trying to get our fitness up so we are just on the brink of death as we finish each session.
In the 3 lesson so far we have had;
Session 1: 6×400 ( 200 meter easy 200 60% ) in addition to the warmup.
Session 2: 15 minute run continously in addition to the warmup
Session 3 ( what i considered the worst one yet) 18x high runs in the school back entrance area with light jog down and sprint back up. This was a workout and a half. everyone dying at the end but Louis ofcourse who is a machine when it comes to distance running. We also had our first 2 people to vomit of the season ( Jack and Sam) and the coaches assured us that it doesnt get easier From there.
This year for SAISA Track and Field my Goals are;
- Make the SAISA Team firstly
- Break 10 meters in the shot put as my last years best was 9.87m and place top 3
- Break 30 meters in the discus throw. Last years best was 26m and place top 3
- Run the 400 meter in under 1 minute 10 seconds and the 800 under 3 minutes and the 1500 is possbile under 5 minutes 40 seconds.
