Gecko Network – leaving teachers video

On the 20th of April, the gecko net group decided to start working on the leaving teacher’s video. This was a big project because it will be conducted by the younger students in the service and will have to depend on the quality of their work. Vinuda, Thisath, and I wanted to make sure our teachings of video recording and editing were put to use. So we wanted to see how the future generation of gecko net would handle and take care of this project. Our job was to make a video to celebrate the leaving teachers of OSC. We would be recording interviewers where one of my peers would ask questions reminiscing the life they had at school. All preparation was done by our younger peers and we would be there to help with ideas and pieces of equipment.

Surprisingly the job tasked from us was completed efficiently. The set was prepared in the green room located in the primary maker space. Lighting was the key aspect of this video and we took inspiration from the interviews held, from the Formula 1 TV series Drive to Survive. Different angles of the interviewee were also needed for the video. This was done by using our school Canon DSLR as our primary angle and an iPhone 11 for the secondary angle.

Inspiration and look of the interview our group is trying to aim:

Collaborative skills are an aspect we depended on throughout this gecko net project. Because we handed the project to the younger members of the service we needed to make sure they were collaborating effectively and using time efficiently. This would ensure the younger peers would gain enough experience for the coming years.
