Making chocolate brownies

Last Saturday afternoon, my brother and I decided to try our hands at baking. We wanted to surprise our parents and grandparents with something sweet and delicious. After some discussion, we settled on making chocolate brownies. I had tried making brownies in the past, but they had turned out to be dry and crumbly. This time, I was determined to do better.

We started by gathering all the ingredients we needed: butter, sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, flour, and baking powder. My younger brother was in charge of mixing the dry ingredients, while I took care of melting the butter and mixing the wet ingredients. We worked together as a team, carefully following the recipe, and double-checking each other’s measurements.

Once we had mixed all the ingredients, we poured the batter into a greased baking dish and put it in the oven. While the brownies were baking, we cleaned up the kitchen and set the table for our presentation. We wanted to make sure that everything was perfect for our guests.

After 20 minutes of baking, the brownies were ready. We took them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before cutting them into small squares. We arranged the brownies on a plate, dusted them with powdered sugar, and presented them to our parents and grandparents with pride.

Seeing the smiles on their faces as they tasted our brownies was the best reward for our hard work. It was a moment of joy and happiness that we shared together as a family. Moreover, it was an area of growth for me, as I had learned from my past mistakes and had put in the effort to improve my baking skills. Overall, it was also a wonderful CAS experience. Especially because it allowed me to express my creativity and strengthen my bond with my brother while also bringing joy to my family.
