Background

“United National Day is celebrated on October 24 of each year. It is a day to celebrate the creation of the United Nations. On October 24, 1945, 50 countries met in San Francisco, California, to form a group of nations who would work together for world peace. This group was called the United Nations, or UN for short. Today, the UN has 193 member states/countries.”

Celebrate UN day is the traditional in our school, we bring the food from our own country to share and wear our country’s traditional cloth to celebrate it.

EXECUTION

In the top of the photo, I am wearing a traditional Chinese costume “旗袍”—— cheongsam. At the beginning  of the celebration, we went to the gym , and then teachers talk about why there are some many nationality in our school. For this year, it was very unforgettable for me. Because I did a group presentation in the UN Day, it is about Human trafficking and Violence. We introduced about what is Human trafficking and Violence, and the solutions of them. In order to support gender equality and resist human trafficking, we let every group make a poster about the human trafficking and let them introduce their poster. Then we share a video about Human Trafficking. In the end of the presentation, we make a quiz, everyone join in this quiz to answer the questions,  it make everyone feels very happy and excited.

(This is the 2 page of our presentation )

After the presentation, it is the lunch time I am most looking forward to! I have seen a variety of foods, most of which are the most traditional and culturally delicious foods, like Chinese dumplings. Generally, people only cook in the New Year. In addition, I prefer Malaysian food, such as barbecue, which is really delicious!!! Each country  have their own culture and own food. In this day, I learn a lot, this is really a very special day, I will always remember this day, and I will respect all people, regardless of nationality, because every culture deserves to be respected, inherited and shared.
