Qingjie's CAS Journey

DP1 Student Orientation 2019-2020

Journey

Day 1

It was a journey that made me feel life-threatening! In the morning we took the bus and started our journey. After a long drive, we came to the foot of the mountain. We tasted some local cakes and black tea, wore life jackets and helmets, and then started going up the mountain. We walked up the stream, this is definitely the most difficult mountain I have ever climbed! I promise! I only wore slippers, because we would pass the river and the shoes would get wet. This caused me to fall and cripple countless times. I climbed the mountain in a way that walked around the tree. Finally we came to the first small waterfall, we sat on the stone in the middle of the river and listened to the teacher for us.

Suddenly I noticed that there was a black soft thing on my foot. I thought it was a leaf, I didn’t care, but then I tried to get rid of it many times but it failed. It made me feel scared. The classmates around me turned to help, Takuro told me that this was a leeches. I was really scared at the time. I thought I was going to die because I had never seen leeches before. I heard that after being bitten by the leeches, I would lose too much blood and die. At the time my feet were flowing a lot of blood, and can’t stop. I may be the first to be injured by the leeches. Later, I gradually got used to it, and then we need to jump from a very high stone, which makes me very excited and scared. When I was standing there, I found out that it was really high. I hesitated for a while, closed my eyes and covered my nose and jumped. The feeling of quickly falling I can remembered until now. That feeling is like that your body is falling fast, your heart and soul are chasing behind, but it can’t catch up.

At noon we started to have lunch. This was the first time I was sitting on a stone in the middle of the river. My legs were soaked in the stream. I felt that this was the best local food I have ever eaten. (Maybe I was very hungry at the time.) In the afternoon, we went to white water rafting, We shouted a very loud slogan and neatly rowing. At this moment, I felt the importance of unity and cooperation. I feel very tired when I go back in the evening, but I am very happy.

Day 2

we went to visit a natural cave and looked at the big and small holes in the cave. This made me start to imagine what happened here. Maybe I used to live a fox and a wolf here, maybe live here. A lot of beautiful birds. Then went to abseiling. In the process, the waterfall had a lot of water, which caused me to fall, my hand began to bleed, but I knew I had to stand up, I climbed hard and continued walking down, finally Arrived at the end.

Day 3

]we interviewed the local residents about local resources and government policies, and then returned to the school by car.

The three-day journey was very exciting and brought me a lot of different feelings. I fell into the pit, but everyone is moving forward, I have to stand up. In this trip, I became more brave. I tried things I never dared to try before. What moved me was when there was some steep slopes. The former classmates would turn back and give me assistance hand. The mutual help between my classmates made me feel the collective warmth. This is a really unforgettable memory.
