QUARANTINE DIARIES 3- SERVICE AROUND THE HOUSE

It might be quite difficult to imagine what kind of ‘service’ can be done when you’re locked out from the outside community and hence also restricted from our usual in-school service. However, there are many little things that can be done to help around the house and meanwhile also keep you busy.

Some examples of things I do around the house to help out are:

  • Unpacking boxes of furniture we didn’t use and moving it around
  • Setting + picking up the table every day
  • Washing and drying the dishes
  • Picking up the leaves from the garden
  • Cleaning the pool
  • Help build furniture
  • Deep clean the bicycles
  • Wash the outside of the car
  • Organize the house
  • Separate  clothes and furniture we don’t need anymore in order to donate it
  • Keep the house clean

Despite these things taking up a lot of time, they actually end up being fun, especially if I’m listening to music or doing it with my brother, so it gets done quicker. Being in quarantine has made me realized a lot of the things that go on behind the scenes to maintain a house with four people, a lot of the jobs which I don’t do on a daily basis. Hence, I think that it has been a great opportunity to start realizing the number of jobs there are and start doing them from my own will!!!!
