Service activities for this year are going well. Initially, I thought it would be challenging and require more responsibility as a newly elected leader. However, I can be proud of our accomplishments because of the improvement I’ve noticed over the past quarter. I discovered how our service group consists of a wonderful team who are well-cooperating with each other.

At the end of the last service session, we had come up with a lot of plans to do in the future. First of all, in terms of attempting to be more inclusive, we changed our name to “Justice and Equality”, but as any of us are still starting to become familiar with it we would still be using this new title along with the previous title as in “Justice and Equality / Girls for Girls”. However, very shortly, we are completely officializing the new title for our service group.

In addition to this, we even designed a logo and a mission statement. We even came up with some agreements within the service group entrusting on how we could avoid harming anyone’s reputation in any possible way. As our final step for the last quarter, we decided to place sanitary napkins onto a box and keep them in the ladies’ bathrooms, in case of their emergency. It is reasonable to assume that the upcoming quarter with service will be hectic but exciting given the accumulated ideas and plans. Along with Nayara, with whom I share the leadership partnership, I’m trying to improve my leadership abilities. I also hope to work collaboratively with the other team members to develop a successful service to the community.
