This year for one of my sports activities, I decided to do the SAISA boys volleyball for activity in the first ASA’s Session. I did this activity for the first time during last year and I was just interested in playing more volleyball and improve on my volleyball skills. I wanted to travel to Muscat, Oman for the SAISA but there were better players than me who were trying out so I didn’t get into the SAISA team but regardless I kept going to sessions on Tuesdays which were meant for Non – SAISA players.

For the first few weeks I was going for all the sessions which was Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturday because I was trying out for the team before. The training sessions for volleyball were pretty rigorous we did jump squats around the net for blocking practice and help with our jump, worked on footwork a lot this year like blocking and then going back and doing the spiking practice. There was also a jumping training ball set up in the side of the court where I individually practiced the footwork and jumping. There were also morning sessions introduced this season.
I feel like I have developed greatly in terms of my playing skills. When I started playing this game last year, I was pretty terrible in my footwork and the way I used my hands to spike the ball. I feel like my form has improved over these 2 years of just working with the SAISA Volleyball team. I hope to continue playing this game and maybe make it into the team next year!
