DP 2 CAS GOALS- 5/09/23

Coming into my final year, I have had a lot of time to think about what, and how I want to use my time this year, especially regarding the 3 segments of CAS.

Service: my plan is to continue with the group ‘Care for Paws’- as I am now one of the leaders, (see below blog post). I want to use this position to gain experience with leadership, and hopefully set up the group for success, whilst mainly focusing on collaborating, both with other groups, like Housing and Habitat for the annual home run, and with new members of the group to make sure everyone is taking on a responsibility.

Creativity:

I have quite a recent idea for what I want to do regarding creativity this year: pottery. I have noticed that I have developed a profound interest in making the dishes I eat out of, and I want to start going to pottery lessons to make ceramics and other interesting pieces that I can decorate in my own way.

I also want to try and grow my photography skills, which are quite limited at the moment, but is something that I have noticed I realy enjoy, especially nature photography of landscapes and animals. My goal will be to comprise a couple monthly highlights and at the end of this year, be able to have a gallery of my best photos to display.

Activity:

My main activity goals this year are regarding SAISA. I want to try and make both Volleyball and Track and Field, which will be my last ever SAISA’s. Because of this, I hope to dedicate myself as best as I can to not only the physical aspect of training, but also collaboration, within team sports. I hope that the contrast between Volleyball and Track will develop my understanding and allow me to take new perspectives regarding sports and how they differ in a team and individual setting.

Another new interest that I want to try and keep up this year is Horse Riding. Over the summer I went to a few sessions at the Ceylon Riding Club in port city. It was something I had never tried before, but I enjoyed myself so much,  both when riding, and grooming the horses. Its a very all-consuming activity to do, as firstly, its so far from my house, and secondly, it takes at least 4 hours in total. I want to set a realistic goal of going maybe once or twice each term, and documenting my progress
