Louis' CAS Journey

The mystery of human existance lies not in staying alive, but in finding something to live for – Fyodor Dostoevsky

Quarantine creativity

In order to satisfy my creative outbursts, and as something of a meditative exercise, I have taken to artistically making sculptures with the leaves on my balcony. Surprisingly it takes more time and effort than you would think, especially to make a sculpture look as perfectly as mine. I find it something of a strangely relaxing and very satisfying to take a few minutes of my day just to use my imagination to dream up what I could create next. Sweeping is also bizarrely calming as I find that the physical repetition offers an opportunity to tune out my surroundings and mentally relax. I have made various logos and symbols, I find that the more challenging ones tend to feel more rewarding, as the more I work on a sculpture, the more I forget about stress, work and any issues that are following me around. It is a weirdly useful tool to relax but I’v found it highly useful.
