With the cancellation of off-season volleyball this year, and to keep fit over the summer, I have been increasing the amount of time I spend in the gym. Body Bar is my next-door neighbor so getting to and from there is simple enough. I’v had a membership since last September, although obviously I wasn’t able to use it from March – June, I’d gone for approx. an hour per week before lock down.
However, recently as the gym opened in early June I’ve been going much more frequently to make up for the lost fitness that I would be doing were off-season volleyball and had the gym been open since March.
At the moment I am focusing on upper body strength with bench presses and pull ups, as well as running 1 km per visit and cooling down on the bicycle. At the moment I can run 1 km in 6:30 although I am attempting to decrease my time to 6 minutes by December.
