CAS Goals

Even though the pandemic limits my choice of activities, it prompts me to think outside the box and come up with ideas that can improve both myself and the community. Below are my goals listed, I hope to improve my creativity, be active and contribute to the community within the remaining months.

Creativity:

I will be uploading more YouTube videos, where I discuss the significance of certain cultural expressions based on a time lapse of me painting the subject. This really allows me to develop my artistic skills when creating paintings. I also expect myself to improve my video editing skills so that my videos become more and more engaging as time passes. The intentions of my YouTube videos are to educate audiences about insights of culture as well as to develop my interest in art on a platform. This opportunity allows me to enhance my skills of several aspects, such as communicating, researching, painting, writing and doing comparative studies.

Action:

I will be working on my home gardening project, where I plant with my parents and chef in our garden. This not only ensures sustainability, but also improves the soil quality, prevent us from going out for shopping and allows us to work out. So far we’ve planted peppers, ginger, egg plants, papaya etc; and I have several more kinds of plants in mind ready to be planted.

I also want to improve my general fitness with badminton and tennis. I expect myself to have better agility and hand-eye coordination after training consistently for the next several months. I can also strengthen my muscles with the constant movements of jumping smashing and crouching.

Service:

I will be mainly focusing on how I can better the environment, such as creating infographics to educate my neighbors about sustainable ways of living and replacing home energy sources with cleaner ones.

I will also be working on the school’s service group Recycling and Sustainability. I hope that I could enhance my skills of collaboration, leadership and making plans throughout this experience. But most importantly, this is an opportunity for me to dedicate to the environment of our school community and to have members of the service work together towards the goal.

I will be continually working as an ambassador of the UN Plant for the Planet organization, and to conduct online presentations in a worldwide manner. With the support of the headquarter, I’m now involved in many programs such as the leadership sessions and have the opportunity to connect with different groups of audiences to make presentations. I’m slowly taking steps towards bettering the environment in a larger and greater context.
