SATURDAY SOCCER GAME

As part of the SAISA girl’s football season for the 2019-2020 school year, there are many mini-tournaments and matches that happen before the actual tournament which is held in February. For example, this past Saturday 30th of December, we played a friendly match against CIS (Colombo international school). I personally feel as though this match was not only an opportunity to get real playtime and experience what playing against other teams in the SAISA tournament will feel like, but it was also a chance to get to know each other (our teammates) as players and figure out what works best.

Since the team has just recently been selected this past week, we still haven’t figured out exactly how each of us plays and who we work best with, therefore I think that this soccer match was a good opportunity to begin grasping an idea of how we will look like as a full-fledged team.

To add on to the success that our game was, we ended up winning 2-0, despite it only having been our first game. I think that this is a good indicator that our season is going to continue getting better along with each individual growing stronger and getting more technical with the ball.
