35 minute vinyasa flow

Staying fit is a very important part of staying healthy, especially now that lockdown is in place and most people are stuck at home. This morning I woke up earlier than usual and decided that I wanted to do some form of exercise. It was 6:00 am and I was still half asleep so I knew that I wouldn’t do my best at a HIIT or cardio workout, so I decided on doing some yoga and I found a 35-minute power vinyasa flow by Alo Yoga.

Even though my mom does a lot of yoga, I’ve avoided it because it can be boring and I’m also not very flexible, so it’s more difficult. Today I decided that I was going to move past my yoga ‘strike’, so I got out my mat, went outside, and started the workout.  (being outside is also very important because it helps wake the body up with natural light, the sun gives vitamin d. I like it because there are a lot of cool birds.)

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the video and being able to focus on my breathing while simultaneously engaging my muscles. Some parts were easier than others and others were more difficult and hurt a lot. For example, downward-facing dog started out more difficult because my hamstrings were tight, but as the flow continued, it got easier and easier.

This explored learning outcomes 2,3, and 4.
