I have a YouTube channel called Zero Eko, where so far, I have uploaded videos about the Maldivian language to teach people the fundamentals. A lot of the Maldivian community end up migrating to different countries, and as a result, many newer generations are unable to speak the language. I thought that teaching the very basics would benefit my target audience to a certain extent as it improves their communication and understanding skills. My goal is to build a solid enough foundation so that if they choose to study the language, they will grasp new concepts faster. The last video I uploaded focused on the writing system used in the language; this was uploaded about a month ago. Since then, I haven’t been posting consistently, so I decided to do this this weekend as I had the opportunity to do so. This video teaches viewers about the names of fruits in Maldivian as well as their pronunciation. In addition to making the video, I also created a worksheet using Canva, which I linked in the description to help the watchers improve their reading and identification skills. I hope to upload videos more consistently to develop a better time management system, as I struggle with that. My current plan is to upload videos either weekly or biweekly to gain some kind of following.
