Danaj’s CAS Journey

Quarantine

Ever since school closed in the middle of March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to resume our academic year by going through the Distance Learning Plan (DLP). This change made me change my normal school daily routine, and had me adapt to a whole new daily routine.

A Rocky Start

The 18th of March was the first day DLP day. Before this all happened my daily school day routine was usually by waking up at 5:30am, have breakfast at around 6am and get ready at 6:30, and I leave my house around 7. From 7:30-2:45pm is our normal school day and on Wednesdays it ends at 1:30pm and if I have any activities after school it would end at 3:45pm. The DLP timetable is different school starts at 9am and ends at 4:15am. During the first few DLP days I woke up at around 7:30 and had my breakfast at around 8 and got ready at around 8:30. I would sometimes forget that I had homeroom or a class during these days and would sometimes be late. It also didn’t help that there were sometimes power-cuts in my area, so if I had a class and a power-cut happened I would have to wait it out. Usually those would last for 5-10 minutes.

After the first week of DLP, I was starting to fully adapt to my new daily life. I didn’t have much trouble waking up late since the school day now starts at 9am. Since school is basically now in my home, it takes me couple of steps to reach my desk and attend to my lessons. I now have a more time to some outdoor or indoor activities. So overall not much has changed, I still hope that school will reopen soon.
