CAS Project– Slacklining ASA

Over the past few months I’ve had the pleasure of planning and executing a Slacklining ASA in Q3 that which MYP and DP students regularly attended, as well teachers.

When people who didn’t continually attend, I was able to introduce them to the activity and expand their comfort zones and experience as this was not something they would’ve otherwise engaged with.

With people who participated weekly I was able to see their growth both in confidence and skills like balance, mindfulness, and concentration, as well as foster a creative, supportive, and active environment that facilitated this growth.

Overall this was a really rewarding experience as I got to help people take their first steps on the line to eventually seeing them walk it with their eyes closed and be more open to experimentation. I hope slacklining is something they will continue to pursue.
