“A we lose ourselves in the service of others we discover our own lives and our own happiness.”

For service this year I have chosen the “Temple School service” group. Our group spends time with underprivileged  chidren from the “Temple School”. We play with them,teach nursery rhymes,sing songs,teach the alpabet etc.

All these children come from families that don’t speak English and there are two service members including me who can speak Sinhala.This makes it much easier for us to communicate with the children and coordinate with the other service members.

I think that service is an important aspect in our lives as it teaches more about who we really our and how we contribute to the society.

I am glad that I was fortunate to get an opportunity to help the society and it has taught me to appreciate what I have.
