CAS – Activity
At the start of my lockdown I had made a goal regarding my physical wellbeing being stuck at home and one of the best ways having that physical activity was doing something I enjoyed. I thought basketball would be a good alternative for a regular gym exercises so I bought a basketball hoop. I also hoped to improve my basketball. skills especially shooting and dribbling over this dlp period as I was hoping to continue my SAISA basketball activities. I started by using the app home court to keep track of my progress with shooting. I did not have the proper dimensions of a basketball court however this app kept track of the amount of shots that I had shot and the amount I had made. Furthermore it allowed me to know which spots I needed to work on and gave me feedback on how to improve for my next session. One of the main things which I had thought I needed improvement in was my shooting off the dribble. Meaning taking in game shots and practicing more in game scenarios. For this I practiced shots and dribbling exercises which were more oriented around what I needed. The app I was using (homecourt) helped me a lot, especially finding new videos to help me in my practices. I hope to use this app in the future.
I had continued this routinely in my house however the past few weeks I have had to move thereby halting my progress and practice. I was unable to find a spot for the hoop at my new home and I need a new form of physical engagement. I want to evaluate a wide array of options which could possibly replace this and I need to make sure it will be has efficient, fun and active as my past physical activity. In my next post I hope to find another activity which can replace this for the time being until I can find a better spot to practice my basketball.
