CAS Goals
Creativity : For my creativity aspect of CAS I hope to do the Yearbook activity which would allow me to engage my design and writing skills which aids my general creativity. This activity would be done weekly and is a yearlong commitment. However if this activity is changed I do have a backup plan. The second goal is to start cooking and create an instagram page for my cooking journey. I hope to learn to cook a completely new dish every week and post my about what I did each week. I want to use this experience so I can improve my culinary skills while engaging myself creativity so I can explore new dishes every week.
Activity : Activity is an area of CAS where I had planned to do by participating in SAISA basketball. I did this for the first time last year and was lucky enough to travel as a part of the SAISA team. If school does come back I hope to continue with this and go to practices twice a week. Now due to the COVID measures I will have to have a backup plan as SAISA basketball is not a guarantee. If this is the case I hope to still practice basketball but at my house on my own hoop. I will incorporate this within my daily workout and try and stay fit incase SAISA basketball does resume. To help me improve my basketball skills and fulfill my activity portion of my service I will get feedback from Mr Turner. I hope through this I can improve my physical health and be more active at home.
Service : For the past 3 years I have been a part of the service group Checkmates. This group helps teach chess to children from local schools nearby. By doing this we are engaging the minds of these children while providing them access to resources which they normally do not have. I hope to continue being a Service leader to this service group if it is continued after the curfew. If service is discontinued I will adapt my goal so I am tutoring my younger cousin two times a week. This will allow me to give back to my cousin and aid him in his school work. I hope this experience will allow me to improve my skills as a tutor and be better fitted to help people learn for the future.
