2nd September – DP 2 CAS Goals and Project

Creativity:

Imagination Exploration

My creative CAS goal is to touch upon my imaginative side within other activities I may be do. My aim is to begin developing posters, artworks and take photos, for both in school activities (such as service) to outer school activities, to engage with such creative aspects.

Action:

Daily Workout

My activity CAS goal is to do some sort of physical exercise at least every other, whether it be going for a run, cycle gym or excetra. By doing this I hope to maintain being active in someway or form.

Service:

Housing and Habitat

As part of my in school service (housing and habitat), my service goal is build, fundraise and educate for the betterment of less fortunate people.

Building :
We are a student led organization which is affiliated with the Janoda Foundation in Hambantota and organize builds with them. However, we also do conduct independent builds as we find them across the island which is not restricted to any particular type of house/school.

Fundraising:
In order to fundraise we have two main fundraisers as of now which is the making of Home RUN! as our primary fundraiser and then conducting bake sales over the course of the school year. Furthermore, we are starting up Housing’s own line of merchandise including shirts, armbands and other memorabilia to raise funds.
Educating:

We work during the second service semester for each year to endeavour to teach the primary pre-schoolers about the varying needs of affordable safe housing needs within Sri Lanka through the creation of teaching plans.

CAS Project:

The CAS project which I will be focusing on is to read to children and help them develop their skills for writing. I will be meeting up with kids from younger grades and read to them for 30 mins every week, whilst slowly developing their writing skills. This CAS Project explores areas of creativity and service.
