My extra-curricular activities at OSC

DP Orientation Trip

When comparing this to my previous experiences at Border Lands I realized that I learned a lot more this time than the last few times I’ve visited. During this trip, I learned to work more with others and be more collaborative. Some of my highlights along the way were the 12-meter jump into the lake, canyoning, as well as rafting, each of these activities required teamwork and collaboration. During those moments, I was able to get to know every one of my members as well as the tour guides much better. Venturing through the wetlands helped me to discover new things about people and become closer to them. Something I found challenging throughout this trip was hiking through the wetlands, I’ve never enjoyed the experience of walking through cold and dark places but over time I developed a different mindset and continued on without complaining so much and to appreciate these experiences. I really appreciated and valued the time we spent with each other when returning to camp after the activities were done, it would always give me a feeling of satisfaction when reflecting on the day and laughing about all the memories we made along the way.
