French Creativity!

In our French class we have to complete a CAS (creativity, activity and service). For my first one I did creativity. For this I made  butter tarts with my dad for Christmas. It’s a tradition he dose every year. In our French class our of the things we focused on and learned about was traditions, so doing one of my car projects on a tradition really helped me connect to the unit. So to start planning and initiating this process of making these butter tarts with my dad, I too out the recipe and went grocery shopping with him so we had all the ingredients ready for the next day. Since we were going away to the beach for Christmas, with two other family’s we wanted to make sure we had enough for everyone.

The next day when we started making them, my dad really taught me what to do, so I could continue to learn and be able to make them better each year. Im not the most patient person when it comes to baking so, I really had to push through and commit to making them this year. I helped in the making and waiting for them to bake and then cooling. I made it till the end! After making them this time I think I really improved, I still need to work on some of the parts to make it but I will get better.

Along the way I took pictures for the recipe I was going to translate to French for my CAS. I made a poster with all the steps and ingredients. So once me and my dad we’re all done baking I went and made my French recipe. I used an app called Canva to make my poster, it was my first time using this app so it took a little adjusting but in the end I think it was worth it! once that was done I wrote a little intro in French to what it is that I made and why, for French class when I would have to present it to the class. And this is how it turned out!
