Zoe’s CAS Journey

My extra-curricular activities at OSC

DP Orientation

During orientation, I got to experience a bunch of new things for the first time and it was definitely a great way to start my DP years off. I first liked how this trip was a lot shorter than a week without walls and we got to do a lot in the short time that we were there. On the first day, we took the first plunge at the canyon that every class goes to at the beginning of their trip. The water was really cold but it was quite refreshing. After the canyoning, we went for white water rafting and that was definitely the highlight of my trip. I was constantly hanging on to the boat to make sure that I didn’t fall overboard. This made me look forward to the rest of the trip as I knew that it was going to be so much better than when we went in 9th grade. The following days we did even more heart-racing activities. We did the 10-meter jump at the Marvel Canyon which was an experience I will never forget. The adrenaline that rushed through my body took away all my nerves in those 3 seconds and it was one of the best experiences I have had so far this year. As the last day rolled around we got to visit the historic sights of the cave as well as did a TOK lesson in a cave that was filled with bats. The smell was horrible but the view made up for it. On the way home, I had nothing but positive memories and thoughts of this trip, if I could I would definitely re-live it again.
