CAS Project Reflection

For my CAS project, I was driven by a desire to engage in service-oriented activities. As one of the leaders of Gecko Net, alongside Thisath and Vinuda, we regularly discuss about future initiatives to advance the production goals of Gecko Network. One proposal that emerged was the establishment of a Gecko Network exhibition aimed at highlighting the service’s achievements over the academic year. The mission of Gecko Network is to create digital content that showcases the activities of the OSC community, encompassing sports (SAISA) and service projects. Consequently, throughout the school year, our service generates a lot of content that we aspire to share with the broader community. We seized the opportunity to showcase the essence of OSC during Open Day, with the intent of engaging prospective parents and students.

Thus our task was to select the best photos taken from the year that showcased a sense of community and engagement either through learning by service or sports. Tasked to take photos for Saisa Girls Football that happened at the beginning of the year, Vinuda chose a few photos from the season. Furthermore, he also took photos taken by Thisath from the Saisa Boys Volleyball.

Below are photos I took of the OSC girl’s football team that was used for the Open day exhibition:

Working together with the school marketing team Thisath, Vinuda, and I were able to execute this project. Our creations were displayed on the front entrance TV which could be a quick way to introduce new and returning parents to what OSC’s sports and service engagement are like.

Another one of the initiatives undertaken was the development of custom Gecko Net crew member t-shirts. These t-shirts were designed to promote our services and highlight our contributions while fostering a sense of professionalism among members during community content production activities. By incorporating straightforward design elements such as the Gecko Network emblem and the school logo, I was able to create distinctive t-shirts, as illustrated below.
