The One with My Goals

Serve. I want to give back to the community. For everything it’s taught me, had me experience, and gifted me. The school, Sri Lanka, and my peers deserve far more than a thank you.

Under stress. Don’t stress out over work! The IB will challenge you in several ways, however, you must learn to stand strong, stay balanced, relax and have fun.

Read. Something I have never given a lot of my time to is reading. The beauty of reading is critically important to be a successful IB student, hence, it will be one of my goals to improve upon my reading through an activity.

Variety. Stay balanced and diverse. Having a variety of extracurricular activities, sports and interests strengthens you and help you grow as an individual. Participation of multiple activities makes a student more open minded, balanced, well-rounded and a risk taker. All achieving different components of the IB learner profile.

Independence. Gaining and sustaining independence is something the IB not only teaches you but expects you to have throughout the DP. Independence is essential as an IB learner, and I expect myself to remain as an independent individual throughout my last 2 years of high school.

Value. Every class we take teaches us something new, and something different. It is important we learn as individuals to value those teaching and understand how to apply those concepts into practical situations.

Active. Academics and extracurricular activities are important, however, so is your physical health. I plan to participate in 3 SAISA sports within these last 2 years to maintain my physical health and fitness. Two of my sports will be SAISA Girls Volleyball, and the other one would be SAISA Girls Football.

Learn. Last but not least, I aim to learn new things and carry them with me to my further studies and university life. I aim to not only learn new ideas, theories and concepts in all of my classes, but to also critically understand how the real-life application of these theories and ideas can be used to overcome situations I can possibly face in the future.
