Since we’re in the midst of a pandemic, we weren’t able to properly celebrate the new year. This allowed me to take this opportunity to gain new skills, have fun, and bond with my mother in the process.
Ingredients:
1 cup condensed milk
¾ cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)
1½ cup maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour
3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
¾ tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vinegar
¾ tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup warm milk

I think baking cake is a wonderful way to improve your home skills and get to know your friends and family better. I think I had plenty of fun creating this cake and the end result was great because it tasted good and I was also able to improve on my cooking skills for this activity. Happy new year!
Learning outcomes observed:
2. Challenge and skills
LO2 Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
A new challenge may be an unfamiliar experience or an extension of an existing one. The newly
acquired or developed skills may be shown through experiences that the student has not previously
undertaken or through increased expertise in an established area.
3. Initiative & planning Students articulate the stages from conceiving an idea to executing a plan for a CAS experience or series of CAS experiences. This may be accomplished in collaboration with other participants. Students may show their knowledge and awareness by building on a previous experience, or by launching a new idea or process.
5. Working collaboratively with others
LO5 Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively Students are able to identify, demonstrate and critically discuss the benefits and challenges of collaboration gained through CAS experiences.
