Sheruni’s CAS Goals

 

Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience: This is vital in a hybrid learning environment and unique circumstances due to COVID-19.

Creativity:

General: To improve my musical skills (vocally and with instruments), and my performance skills by engaging in different lessons and performance opportunities and trying to create music throughout my DP years.

Plan A (Assuming no restrictions due to COVID-19): To engage and participate in the secondary school productions and concerts, so as to expand my performance skills and confidence as an actress/ singer. 

Plan B (Assuming COVID-19 restrictions limit school productions/concerts): To improve my singing and performance skills by doing various gigs around Colombo (in hotels/restaurants).

Plan C: To improve my piano skills and learn a variety of pieces across genres by participating in the weekly supervised piano lessons, and practicing everyday on my own for 10-30 minutes.

Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth shows an ability to recognise performance as a strength, and looks at areas within this to improve the skill. 

 

Activity:

Plan A (If SAISA’s can happen): To participate in SAISA Track and Field and create personal bests in all of my individual events, as well as improve my skills in SAISA Girls Basketball.

Plan B (If SAISA’s are cancelled) : To maintain and improve personal fitness by running 1-3 times a week, and doing home workouts or other types of exercise (gym, bike riding, HIIT workouts, swimming, hiking) on other days of the week to ensure some level of physical activity everyday.

Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS Experiences would require perseverance due to regular participation in SAISA preparation and training.

Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process goal demonstrates an ability to adapt to the challenges and restrictions presented due to COVID-19.

Service:

Plan A (If OSC provides the service program despite COVID-19 restrictions): To participate in the service groups Girls for Girls for the full year, and work to support the girls who are victims of sexual assault, and help them develop different types of skills.

Plan B: To engage with the community around me and take up small service projects wherever there is a need.

Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance Gender equality is an issue of global significance and this addresses the population of girls directly affected by sexual harassment.
