Today, I made Bagels and scrambled eggs with basil, cheese, and a spicy mayonnaise sauce. This is fun for me to do because I love to cook and I always keep searching for new recipes and many times I get inspired by the recipe and make an adaptation. I started with making the scrambled eggs and I got the Bagel from the grocery store in my apartment. My mom grows basil in the house and she planted the seeds a while ago, so I have access to fresh basil. I used the normal mayonnaise and added hot sauce and chili flakes to make it spicy. The prep time is about 5 minutes and the cooking time is 15 minutes approx. For assembling the bagel, we start with toasting the bottom and the top and then, adding the spicy mayonnaise to the bottom and then adding the scrambled eggs, cheese and basil, and finally putting the top. It is fast, easy, and delicious and is healthy as well. I made this for the first time so I developed my knowledge of food and as much as I love to cook, I am still not familiar with all the ins and outs of it. This was also service because my mom did not have to make breakfast. That was one less thing for her to do and they enjoyed their breakfast together. I felt good about it as well and it turned out amazing and even “aesthetically pleasing”. This CAS experience involves the following learning outcomes: 1, 2, and 3.
