In life it is always beneficial to develop all aspects of our personal potential and person as a whole. The CAS consists of creativity, action and service, all important to secure a healthy and focused mindset whilst aiding the lives of those around us.
Creativity
Most people take perceive creativity as making a painting or sculpting intricate masterpieces with allegory and symbolism. These are, effective forms of creativity but, only scratch the surface of all the different flavours it can bring. Creativity could be writing a speech, organising an event, starting up a club and anything that requires one to look within themselves while thinking outside the box. This year, seeing as how my group 6 subject takes the form of chemistry, I will execute my creative activities during ASA periods. Currently, I have enrolled in 2 after school activities containing a focus on the creative aspect of my personality. The activities include The Senior Production “A midsummer’s night dream” and the second includes COMUN EXCO in which, I have taken up the role of international press and therefore, in charge of the social aspects of MUN. My goals in the creativity aspect includes:
The Senior Production
- Improving my capabilities of altering my personality to adapt to that of the role I play in The Production.
- Finding effective ways of memorising my lines (there are quite a few) for the role that I take up
COMUN EXCO
- Finding new and exciting ways of communicating ideas and event updates with the community surrounding COMUN 2019.
- Improving my graphical design capabilities to produce effective and pleasing results.
Methods that I can achieve some of these goals vary from goal to goal as they are diverse and require different aspects of creativity. To improve my abilities to adapt new personality traits for the production, I plan to explore the different methods of acting by looking at techniques used by theatre practitioners such as Konstantin Stanislavski. To achieve my goal of memorising my lines for the production I plan to use different studying techniques such as flashcards, writing them down and practicing with a partner.
For my MUN EXCO goals I firstly plan to become acquainted with the other students participating in the international press branch of MUN. Once getting a proper understanding of the the ways that COMUN EXCO works I begin implementing my own ideas, as to how we can effectively update the surrounding community regarding any MUN related events. To improve my graphic designing capabilities, I plan to watch and learn from online sources and utilise them as guides on how to create pleasing results.
SERVICE
Service is the ways in which we can studentsHelp and aid are surrounding environmentFor the betterment of the community.This yearI have decided to join gecko network in order to build upon my goals in MUN EXCO Try out the new service group I have not yet participated in. My goal for this year’s gecko network is to create video and digital products which, will aid the school community. I also plan on improving my digital skills and develop A new interest in photography which will help me furthermore gather footage during school events.
Activity
For the first quarter of the school year I plan to participate in SAISA volleyball and become part of the travelling team. My goals for this activity this to improve my overall volleyball skills, which include:
- Receiving the ball
- Effective serves
- Blocking at the net
- Powerful spiking
In order to achieve the goals set by myself for volleyball I plan to attend the Tuesday, Friday and Saturday practices, Look for feedback in tips on how to improve and I would watch online videos on the different techniques and skills required to become an effective type player whilst applying those skills during practices.
