Today in COMUN we did a big donation to the local Temple School. We had many extra bags from previous years which were meant to be used for the COMUN session, but they weren’t, so we decided to collect them all and send them off to the Temple School, which is a local orphanage. For the donations we had many items. The majority of these items were stationary, ranging from pens, pencils and markers. There were even some school bags and plastic cutlery in the mix. The entire COMUN group worked for the session to organize the many items into boxes so that we could send them to the school through a service group in our school called Hope for Kids, which works with the Temple School.

The COMUN group organizing items to be donated

This donation is in conjunction with my creativity for CAS as it is from the COMUN group, but it also relates to service, as we are making a sizeable donation to help these children in need by supplying them with items we may consider to be a usual everyday item, while for these kids they can now draw, color and even have some schoolbags which they may not even have. Overall, I am very proud of the COMUN group for organizing this great donation to children in need, and I am sure it will put a smile on their faces, as it definitely put a smile on my face.
