Regaining a Balance: My time off IB

Recently I have re-started my gym routine after almost three weeks off. As the DP2 year becomes more challenging, I have started to lose my work-life balance. To overcome this challenge, I have set a goal for myself to go to the gym 3 times a week. Especially because I am not doing a SAISA this year like I did Track last year.

Without ‘Track’, I have noticed how my cardiovascular endurance has depleted after the session I had on the treadmill on the 5th of November. Therefore, I think I want to modify my routine and implement more days that target cardio. I want to make this a commitment in order to push myself and regain that balance I have lost. However, I do struggle with the motivation to go to the gym, especially because schoolwork is taxing and I always just want to sleep after school. To tackle this limitation I have started going with my dad, I think that going with my dad is a motivation because it makes the sessions more fun for me. I almost collaborated with him during his workouts with the gym trainer by copying the workouts. This again challenges me because they usually hit arms, which I don’t usually ever do.
