Eco-Observing

Over the course of the past couple of weeks, I have begun to notice flourishing diversity within the space of my own home! Being sick and having to spend a lot of time at my house during the day made me more aware of the creatures that make themselves at home whilst I’m away at school. I began to take an interest in the different animals I was seeing, and started photographing them more closely to keep track of what I was finding, using the software Inaturalist. This app allows you to add photos of various plants and animals with your identification of the species, and then other people on the app add their recomendations of the observation. So far, this is what I have found. 3 of the observations have actually achieved the ‘reaserch grade,’ which means the Inaturalist community has agreed on my suggestion of what species the organism belongs to.
