CAS Goals

CAS Goals 2019-20

Creativity – Meditative coloring

  • Maintain mental tranquility. Because Meditative coloring is an opportunity to find peace within my busy life and have a moment of calm, I aim to use this time to create a sense of calm and maintain mental stability. I find that coloring as a task can be quite spiritually healing and I aim to utilize this in my time there.
  • Reflect internally. As meditative coloring is a peaceful quiet space, I aim to use my time there to reflect as I find this a process that strengthens me as a person. My goal is to reflect on the past week and attempt to gain an understanding of what my past failures were, how I can learn from them and how I can improve for the future.

Activity – Volleyball

  • Motivate teammates. As a more experienced member of the team, I aim to bring my expertise to the team through motivating and setting an example for my teammates. I have found that a lack of motivational mentality is present in the team and my goal is to change that by setting an example of how the mindset of a player can change their game. I aim to set an example for my team mates by working hard and committing myself to the sport.
  • Teach my knowledge. As I already mentioned, I am somewhat more of an experienced player on the team, which gives me a unique opportunity to teach my teammates my skills and expertise and help them improve. I aim to teach them my knowledge and what I have learnt from my experiences, thus increasing their growth and skills.

Service – RCCI

  • So far I have heavily enjoyed RCCI and this year I aim to have a large impact on the group. Taking a more senior leadership role is definitely something I would be interested in and I wish to take my experiences further to find out what a leadership role would be like. Working with the children has been an enlightening experience and I think that this could be taken further by being not only a member, but a facilitator of the activities that we partake in. Seeing how other leaders have gained experiences and skill sets that are unavailable to those not involved in leadership, has made me aspire to become a leader and my goal this year is to take a more senior role in the program, even if it isn’t a leadership role. I feel that not taking the position of a leader is acceptable, as it is my first year with the program, but I would not feel that I have achieved this goal if I have not taken a more significant role in the program.
