Meditative coloring

Meditative coloring – Creativity

Meditative coloring is an activity that I joined at the start of the school. I saw this an hour i could use at the start of the week to relax and get away from the stress of the DP program. This also became a part of my CAS creativity goal. Essentially meditative coloring is an hour after school on monday, where those who have signed up meet in the Library with Mrs. Lockwood and work of some art. As evidenced by the name, meditative coloring is a time to relax and meditate while simultaneously stimulating our creativity. My goal for this quarter was to complete one large piece of artwork, in order to ensure that i wasn’t using that 1 hour every week just to kill time. In order to achieve this goal, Jack and myself began work on a rather large piece of art. Its a pre-outlined flower that we would fill out in markers and colored pencils every session. Below are some pictures of our progress so far.

Reflecting on my time in the activity so far I can confidently say that it has been beneficial to my mental well being and stress management. Being able to take that hour to relax and take my mind off of school and swimming has been incredible.
