During my Christmas trip to Kandy, one of the most interesting session was my visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens. It was my third time visiting it, so I expected to see less new things, but to relax and go for a walk. It is located 460 meters above average sea level, and encompasses a total area of 147 acres. Starting from the main entrance at 1 pm, we went to the plant house, then to the great circle, followed by the Pine Avenues, etc. It was a long distance walk as we planned to cover most of the spots in the garden. We spent around two and a half hour in total for the walk, and the recorded steps on my watch was 26908, and Calorie burnt was 423. Though exhausted due to the heat and hike, it was absolutely sensational to see all kinds of tropical plants, and the garden showcased various plants that hold historical significance as they were planted by foreign political figures. I really enjoyed this experience, as it not only allowed me to take a break from school work, but also to keep up with fitness activities.
