OSC VS. MOIR- SAISA SOCCER

SAISA soccer season is back on track after the winter holidays. We are up and running again, so much so that we initiated our first game of the new year this past Tuesday. After having practiced game scenarios and crossing, we had a game vs. the soccer team at the Elizabeth Moir school.

Despite the results not being the ones we would have wished for, I still think that this game served us as a lesson and taught us how to improve as a team. There are many things that went well; we maintained our defensive line throughout the entire game, we practiced more 1 on 1 passing while nearing the box, and we communicated.

However, as I mentioned before, there are many things that we can still improve on. For starters, we need to learn to remain in our positions and be attentive to those around us. What I mean by this is that there were many moments during the game in which we would all crowd around the ball despite being on the same team and having the same intention of getting the ball. This is an issue that is easy to fix but that we need to practice more before traveling to Oman for the final tournament.

I also think that we could work on taking more chances when we’re up close to the box because we had many opportunities to score but we didn’t shoot. This is also something that we can fix within a couple of practices, but it’s imperative if we want to do well in the tournament.
