In order for a successful service semester this year, the other two leaders of my service have decided to take a planning period before bringing in the kids to teach them to swim. Last year our service struggled to have an organized plan and schedule for our service year, and honestly, it was holding back our progression working with the kids in the water. We did not have an assigned planning day and occasionally we would have to cancel to re-organize. The system was inefficient and impractical. This year, we are taking time away from teaching the kids to have an organized semester. The leaders and I decided that we would plan our sessions until the start of November, this way we would not need to take inconvenient breaks away from teaching the children. I also want this planning period to be something that continues once my fellow leader Akash leaves this year. This way our service will remain organized even once we are gone and also remain successful.
