CAS Goals
CAS is an important part of the IBDP program. CAS is stands for Creativity, Activity and Service. The reason why CAS is made is to give students a chance to have balanced life which consists of sports, art and service during the DP program. Therefore this blog will be used to talk about my CAS goals, how I plan to complete those CAS goals and if I was able to complete those goals or not. The 6 goals below show the goals for creativity, Activity and Service. So far I have made 6 goals, 2 for creativity, 2 for activity and 2 for service. By the end of the year I should have been able to complete at least 1 goal of those categories. But if I managed to complete all 6 of my goals I would consider that to be great accomplishment.
Creativity
I have been playing piano for the past 8 years and gained a lot of experience in note writing.
Therefore my goals are to:
-
- Complete the entire John Thompson piano course books.
- Compose a piano music piece.
Activity
I started to play badminton this year, and go to Zimanthra to practice with my coach. Since I joined a badminton club I get the chance to participate in tournaments for my team. Another thing is that there is badminton in SAISA
Therefore my goals are to:
-
- Improve my shots.
- Participate in SAISA Badminton
Service
Since service is mandatory in OSC I decided to do Recycling and Sustainability, I have been doing this service for the past 3 years, and the importance of reducing our carbon footprint. The main part in this service is collecting paper and cardboard from both the Primary and Secondary school, and then store all the paper we got to the recycling shed. We then collect majority of the paper and cardboard to a recycling center, where it is sold at that recycling center. The one thing we were able to accomplish in those 3 years was that we were able to get rid of all the plastic utensils, and the paper plates from the canteen.
My goals to are:
-
- To become service leader in the Recycling and Sustainability.
- To continue collecting recycling materials around to school to ensure that recycling is being done in all classes.
