“Songs Of Hope” – (December 8th, 2022)
The gala concert. Not much to say but it was a heck of preparation within about 3-4 weeks but in the end, I would say that it all went really well. The thing is, I didn’t even know how I would pass the songs, as I was sick with the flu. Like, this happens every time before a concert. But luckily it wasn’t as severe as before, and I gave it my best shot. I sang “Wind Of Change” by the Scorpions, an all time classic.
I wasn’t really nervous when I stepped onto the stage, really the only thing I’m nervous about is if I screw up the lyrics. But the performance did go well. But it did keep me worried about the iconic whistling sections of the song. So to play the guitar and whistle has a lot of coordination. This is definitely the case as I had to whistle in the right pitch and play the exact chordal structures. But once the whistling was over, I was back on familiar turf. What was so nice to see was the audience mouthing the words, I should have asked them to join along before, as it would have been a great sounding performance. This performance really demonstrated myself as a performer, but also my coordination skills. I was able to grasp the awareness of whistling in pitch and playing the guitar, but at the same time, engaging the audience.
Now to prep for the spring gala……..
